Silent Chain Identification

When replacing an existing silent chain it is very important to correctly identify the chain that you have. If the part number and manufacturer is not known, Ramsey customer service can help you identify a chain. Simply go through the ten questions listed below and answer as many as possible. The more information you provide customer service, the easier it will be to identify a correct replacement. If additional information is required customer service may also request a small sample of the chain in order to verify its identity.

Is the chain used for power transmission or conveying?

What is the guide type? Center Guide, 2-Center Guide, or Side Guide?

What is the Pitch? See "Fundamentals" for the best way to measure pitch.

4)

Do the driving links in the chain resemble any of the links shown?
